Raahgiri is a high-octane action thriller set in the heart of modern-day Mumbai, where the lines between right and wrong blur, and the price of silence is paid in blood. Directed by Rohan Malhotra in his much-anticipated return to cinema, the film stars Vicky Kaushal as Arjun Mehra — a reclusive ex-intelligence officer haunted by a covert mission gone wrong. Mrunal Thakur plays Aanya Sharma, a fierce investigative journalist determined to expose the corruption that grips the city.
The story begins with a series of mysterious bombings across the city, claimed by an unknown extremist group. As fear and chaos spread, Arjun, now working as a mechanic in a quiet suburb, is reluctantly pulled back into the world he tried to leave behind. When Aanya approaches him for help with a secret file linked to a powerful political figure, Arjun is forced to confront the ghosts of his past.
Together, they uncover a conspiracy that connects the bombings to a syndicate of corrupt politicians, business tycoons, and rogue intelligence officers — a dark alliance that will do anything to remain hidden. As Arjun and Aanya race against time, they must navigate a deadly game of betrayal, deception, and sacrifice.
What sets Raahgiri apart is its grounded realism mixed with sharp, stylish action sequences choreographed by international stunt teams. The film delves deep into the emotional cost of duty, the fragility of truth in a manipulated society, and the resilience of those who dare to speak against injustice.
Vicky Kaushal delivers one of his most intense performances yet, portraying Arjun as a man broken by duty but driven by a quiet sense of responsibility. Mrunal Thakur’s portrayal of Aanya brings strength, vulnerability, and fire to the screen. Pankaj Tripathi, playing the morally ambiguous politician Devraj Shastri, offers a chillingly calm performance that anchors the film's tension. Rajpal Yadav provides moments of comic relief as a street-smart hacker who aids the protagonists.
The music, composed by Amit Trivedi, blends haunting melodies with high-energy beats, complementing the film’s mood. From the narrow alleys of old Mumbai to high-tech surveillance rooms and explosive action set-pieces, Raahgiri keeps the audience on edge throughout its runtime.
With its gripping storyline, compelling performances, and social relevance, Raahgiri is more than just an action film — it is a commentary on modern India's fight against corruption and the cost of silence in a world that thrives on secrets.
Raahgiri hits theaters in July 2025 and is already generating buzz as one of the year’s most anticipated releases.
